About COCRA

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Colorado—one team, one community at a time.

At the heart of every thriving community is a commitment to compassionate, collaborative care. The Colorado Co-Responder Alliance brings together mental health professionals and law enforcement officers from co-responder teams across the state—united in our mission to support one another, share knowledge, and strengthen our collective impact.

By fostering cross-agency collaboration, providing shared training opportunities, and promoting a culture of mutual support, we empower teams to better respond to individuals in crisis. Our partnership enhances public safety, improves outcomes, and reinforces a model of response grounded in empathy, trust, and professional excellence.

The Colorado Co-Responder Alliance (COCRA) was formed in May of 2022 and is a statewide organization of field experts consisting of first responders, behavioral health professionals, and project managers working in co-response programs.

COCRA has a three-part mission: (1) to enhance the understanding of co-response programs and co-response best practices in Colorado, (2) to promote the use of co-response to assist individuals with behavioral health issues, (3) to advocate for laws and policies that support co-response where appropriate, and other programs and approaches when not. COCRA is nonpartisan and nonideological. Members support practical, real-world approaches and opportunities to collaborate.

COCRA is funded in part by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration.
